About/Contact

Well, almost anything you want to know about me you could probably infer from my blog posts, but here’s the condensed version:  I love to read, write, cross stitch, garden, watch movies (and t.v. shows), make coffee, make tea, bake things that involve generous amounts of chocolate. When I was younger I was obsessed with Laura Croft so I started growing out my hair until I could do the Tomb Raider braid (which I now can although the obsession faded when I realized no amount of hair would allow me to drop out of school and raid tombs for a living).

I’m happy to take book review requests but I can’t promise you a set turn-around time as my real-world schedule likes to fluctuate.  Please send queries to resa nienaber (at) gmail (dot) com.  (no spaces) and we can talk about it.  I will not read or review erotica or romance novels bordering on erotica but other than that I’m not picky.  I will read self-pub books on a selective basis, but don’t be afraid to ask.  For review requests I publish on Amazon and Goodreads if I believe your book rates 3 stars or higher (I don’t follow this policy for books I find and read on my own though).

I do not always give the same ranking for books on goodreads and amazon (although the reviews will always be the same) because these two sites have different weightings placed on their reviews, so I have given an explanation below.

Amazon Rankings

(Amazon Says) Positive Review = 5 Stars  = (I Say) This book is fantastic, pick it up and read it now

(Amazon Says) Positive Review = 4 Stars = (I say) This book is great, several flaws but still worth a read

(Amazon Says) Negative Review = 3 Stars = (I say) This book is alright, might be worth reading but it has faults

(Amazon Says) Negative Review = 2 Stars = (I say) This book might have had some positives, but I don’t recommend it

(Amazon Says) Negative Review = 1 Star = (I say) This book was unreadable or unfinished.

Goodreads Rankings

(Goodreads) It was Amazing = 5 Stars = (I say) Changed my life.  Drop everything and read it now.

(Goodreads) Really Liked it = 4 Stars = (I say) Practically Perfect in Every Way.

(Goodreads) I Liked it = 3 Stars = (I say) This book is great, several flaws, but still worth a read

(Goodreads) It was okay = 2 stars = (I say) This book is alright, might be worth reading but it has faults.

(Goodreads) Didn’t Like it = 1 Star= (I say) Might have some positives, but not recommended.

    • I had to take it down due to a lack of time. I was supposed to be running it with someone else but she wasn’t able to help anymore and with just me and work and finishing school I didn’t have the kind of time I wanted to keep building it. Our last day was August 8th.

Thanks for reading and contributing! I’m very sad to have ended it after only one year but I just couldn’t keep it up.

  2. I love your cross stitching! It’s one of my favorite forms of needle work too. You’ve inspired me to post some of my own work. I hope you come by and check it out when you have a chance at LiteratureVsLaundry.com – Happy Stitching & Reading – Ilene

  3. Hello! You are one of the fifteen bloggers I nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. The award says it all, I guess, and I believe you deserve it. Cheers! Congrats! =) — Francis
